All about 3D models and STL files
What is an STL file?
The standard format for 3D printing. It describes the geometry of an object as triangles. It is the most common format on Thingiverse, Cults3D and Printables.
Accepted formats
STL, OBJ, 3MF and STEP. 3MF is recommended because it keeps colour and material information.
Free or paid?
Printables and Sketchfab are mostly free. Cults3D offers a mix of free and premium models. Paid models are often of higher quality.
