Your photo comes to life in 3D
Custom figurine from your photos
Your photo comes to life in 3D: the person, the couple or the family dog becomes a figurine you can hold in your hand. You approve the 3D model before we print, choose hand painting if you want it, then collect it in Toulouse or have it posted to you in France.

From photo to figurine: your photo comes to life
In a photo, the person is flat. Our job is to give them their volume back.
Working from your photos, we model the face, build, hairstyle and outfit in 3D. A smile, a way of standing, a detail that matters to you (the club shirt, the wedding dress, the dog's collar): that is what makes people recognise the figurine at first glance.
You receive views of the 3D model before anything is printed and can ask for changes: longer hair, a different pose, something in the hand. Once it looks like the person, we print it and, if you chose that finish, hand-paint it.
Personalised figurine gift ideas
Nearly every request is a gift, and each one comes with a story.
- Couple figurine : The two of you in your favourite pose, hand in hand or back to back. An anniversary present that won't end up in a drawer.
- Custom wedding cake topper : The bride and groom in their wedding outfits, on the cake on the day and on a shelf afterwards. Send photos of the dress and the suit.
- A figurine of a colleague : For a retirement or a leaving do: the colleague with their bike, their guitar or the mug they never put down.
- Pet figurine : The dog sitting the way it waits by the door, or the cat curled up asleep. Animals suit filament printing well.
- Toulouse themes : A rugby fan in a Stade Toulousain shirt, or an aviation enthusiast beside a model aircraft, printed in several colours.
- Family or team : Several people on one base: parents and children, friends, the whole office.
Custom figurine from a photo: what to send us
The likeness depends mostly on the photos. Here is what helps.
For each person, send one photo from the front, one from the side and one from the back, plus a full-length shot showing their build and the outfit you want. Daylight works best, with no backlighting or filters. Sharp phone photos are fine.
Tell us the pose, the outfit, any accessories (glasses, cap, ball, instrument) and any text for the base. If the figurine is a surprise, a handful of well-chosen holiday snaps can be enough: we'll tell you what is missing.
Our contact form takes photos as attachments. You can also send them on WhatsApp to +33 7 59 72 51 81 or by email to contact@toulouse3dprint.fr, and you are welcome to write to us in English.
How your figurine is made
- Photos and brief : You send the photos, the size you have in mind and the occasion. We reply with a free quote and any questions.
- 3D model to approve : We model the figurine and refine the face, hair and clothes by hand. You receive screenshots of the 3D model and ask for corrections before anything is printed.
- Printing in filament : Once you approve the model, the figurine is printed in PLA, in one or several colours depending on the look you chose.
- Finishing : Supports come off, then, depending on the option: sanding, primer and hand painting.
- Collection or delivery : Pick it up from the workshop on boulevard Silvio Trentin in Toulouse, or we pack it and send it anywhere in France by Mondial Relay or Colissimo. For another country, ask us first whether shipping is possible and what it costs.
Personalised statuette: sizes and finishes
The finish changes the result more than the size does.
Tell us the height you want, base included, and the quote will confirm what is feasible at that size. Each extra person on the base adds modelling and painting time.
| Finish | What you receive | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Raw | A single-colour figurine straight off the printer, supports removed. The fine filament layers show up close. | Painting it yourself, or a plain white statuette look. |
| Sanded and primed | Smoothed surface with a coat of matt primer, ready to paint. | Model makers and miniature painters with their own kit. |
| Hand-painted | Skin, hair, eyes, clothes and base painted in the workshop from your photos. | A present ready to hand over, and the closest likeness. |
| Small (cake topper, desk) | Facial features are simplified: you recognise the person by their silhouette, hairstyle and outfit. | Wedding cakes, keyrings, table gifts. |
| Large (shelf, display cabinet) | More room for detail in the face and hands. | A detailed likeness, a family keepsake. |
A 3D printed figurine in filament, not resin: what changes
Many custom figurine websites print in resin. Our workshop prints in FDM, which means PLA filament. A raw filament figurine shows fine layer lines where resin comes out smooth, which is why we offer sanding, priming and painting: once painted, the difference is hard to spot.
In return, PLA is less likely than thin resin to snap when the figurine falls off a shelf or gets passed around by children. And our model is not an AI render sent straight to the printer: every face is reworked by hand until you approve it.
We also make custom masks and light-up signs with a child's name for a bedroom.
Frequently asked questions
What photos do I need to send for a custom figurine?
For each person: front, side, back and full-length, in daylight and without filters. The more angles you send, the better the likeness.
Will the figurine really look like the person?
We work from your photos, refine the model by hand, and you approve it in 3D before printing. You can ask for corrections until the face looks right.
How big can the figurine be?
Anything from a small cake topper to a statuette for the shelf. Tell us the height you want and the quote will say what detail that allows.
How many people can go on one figurine?
One person, a couple, a family or a group on the same base, pets included. Each extra person adds modelling and painting time, and so cost.
Is the figurine painted?
With the painted option, yes: it is hand-painted in the workshop from your photos. You can also have it raw, or sanded and primed to paint yourself.
Is a filament figurine fragile?
PLA copes with small knocks better than thin resin. Very fine parts, such as spread fingers, remain the weak points, so we thicken them slightly where needed.
How long does a custom figurine take?
It depends on the number of people, the size, the painting and the rounds of changes. The timescale is on the quote; tell us if it must be ready for a wedding.
Can you send the figurine outside France?
Online orders are delivered within France by Mondial Relay or Colissimo. For another country, contact us and we'll tell you whether shipping is possible and what it costs. You can also collect it from the workshop in Toulouse.
